Baby 4 5 months how much. What do parents need to know about a four-month-old baby? What is the best way to start introducing complementary foods

Every mother must be aware of the changes that occur with the child at each stage of his development. After all, the mother should be aware of the peculiarities of growth, so that in case of any inconsistencies, immediately consult a doctor. This article details the development of a 4-5 month old baby. At this stage, a lot of changes are happening with the baby, which are worth talking about.

Around the fourth month of life, changes in the proportions of the head and body occur. The next two months are a period of rapid growth internal organs. This is what explains the changes in physique. At the same time, there is a rapid development of the organs of vision and hearing. Therefore, children of this age are susceptible to bright and sonorous rattles. At this age, it is already possible to involve the baby in various games aimed at developing tactile sensations, physical development and hearing development.

A baby at four months old can already hold his head, lying on the surface. He tries to lift the body and hold it for a few seconds on weight. And at five months, the child can already hold the body in an elevated position for about a minute. Children at this age are surprisingly agile. For example, a baby can roll over from his stomach to his back and return to his original position without the complicity of his parents. Most of all, they like to lie on their tummy, as in this position it is convenient for them to observe the world around them.

At this stage of development, the baby gives out the first smile, learns to recognize the touch of the hands of a loved one, makes the first sounds with the color of a certain intonation, looks for ways to attract attention. In addition, if someone unfamiliar takes the child in his arms, he may well burst into tears due to the fact that he does not know this person. After all, the child has already managed to remember the smell, voices and faces of the parents. Now, when the baby cries, he adds certain sounds to his crying like “agu-agu” - this is how he calls his mother, communicates in his own way.

Often at this stage of development, some children begin to grow hair rapidly, which subsequently becomes thick hair. Up to a year, until the fontanel overgrows, it is not recommended to cut the baby. But with the nails, the situation is different - they need to be trimmed regularly so that the baby does not scratch himself.

For a month, on average, a baby gains weight by about 600-750 grams, while growth increases by 2-3 centimeters. The circumference of the head is already smaller than the circumference of the chest, so the baby's physique becomes more proportional.

At the fourth month of life, the baby is still enough breast milk. In addition to milk, he should also be given boiled water to drink. If there is not enough milk, you can start giving him formulas for feeding. At the fourth month, it is already possible to feed the baby with complementary foods, mashed potatoes. However, before this, it is necessary to consult with a pediatrician.

Therefore, be very careful and observant. Make sure the toys are small parts that a child could put into their mouth. At this age, the baby keeps his ears on top, listening to every new sound coming from the TV, games or outside the door.

In this article:

The development of a child from 4 to 5 months is characterized by noticeable physical and psycho-emotional changes. During this period, the kids are already consciously trying to grab the objects they are interested in, throw them, watching the effect, rejoice at the appearance of loved ones. Most children by this time quietly roll over from their back to their stomach.

Features of physical development

Between 4 and 5 months of life, the baby continues to actively grow and gain mass. Compared to the previous month, the weight of the child will increase by an average of 750-800 grams, and height - by 2-2.5 cm. The lungs during this period are twice as large in weight as those of newborns, the pancreas and liver increase in size.

At this age, the baby is noticeably easier to cope with the digestion of food, he is less often tormented intestinal colic and he is already quite capable of sleeping through the night without disturbing his parents with a hungry cry.

It used to be considered that it was possible to expect the appearance of the first teeth in a child not earlier than six months of age. Today, children develop somewhat faster, so many of them have their first tooth by the end of the fourth month.

The fact that the child will soon have teeth can be judged by profuse salivation, frequent crying, especially at night. To determine that the incisors will really appear soon, you can gently run your finger over the baby's gums.

Often enough
indicates the imminent appearance of incisors heat and indigestion in a child. To exclude a number of diseases that have the same symptoms, it is necessary to consult a pediatrician when they appear.

Between 4 and 5 months of age, children practically do not disturb their parents by crying for no apparent reason. They have already almost adapted to the new conditions of life and are most often in an excellent mood.

Features of the mental development of the baby

One of the main indicators of the social development of the baby in the period from 4 to 5 months is sincere joy and pleasure at the sight of relatives and friends, usually accompanied by a smile and active movements of the whole body. At this age, the baby is still trusting and does not show hostility towards strangers. He rejoices at the appearance of any person who will try to establish contact with him. With all his appearance, the baby tries to demonstrate readiness for communication.

By the end of the fourth month, the walking reflex finally disappears. This is easy to check if you put the crumbs on a hard surface, holding under the arms - his legs will remain in a bent position, the imitation of steps will disappear.

Most babies at this age respond positively to music and pleasant sounds, looking for their sources, actively turning their heads from side to side. They can already be captivated by bright toys with a built-in music block.

Children at this age recognize their parents and closest relatives not only by smell, but also visually. When communicating with the baby, it is important to stand over him in such a way that the light illuminates your face well. Mom can line her lips with bright lipstick, drawing the child's attention to her face. The baby will follow the movements of the painted lips with great interest and will even try to repeat them.

Features of the development of the feelings of the baby

One of the major changes in the baby's life is that he finally begins to see not only those objects that are located at a distance of 40 cm from him. Now, between 4 and 5 months, the baby is able to focus on any object, no matter how far away he is from him. New abilities open up new opportunities for the baby - to see the whole world!

In this period
It's time to start developing the baby, introducing him to the outside world:

  • in the house;
  • from the window;
  • on a walk.

During walks, you can show the baby new objects, people, animals, drawing his attention to their shape, height, sounds made, and even remoteness.

In the same period, the child continues tactile acquaintance with the world. He touches everything that comes his way. You can invite the baby to compare the sensations of touch different surfaces, let him touch cold and warm objects.

Also in this
The child’s vision is formed at the age, so parents need to select toys for him with special care. The most active baby will respond to toys bright colors, as well as colors that are as close to natural as possible. From 4 to 5 months, the child is not recommended to look at the screens of TVs and tablets, which will be much more useful to replace with observations by the window and full walks on the street.

How does motor skills develop?

Between 4 and 5 months, the baby already consciously controls his own handles, developing their movements. Parents can help their baby improve hand-eye coordination, for example by offering to hold
rattle with both hands at the same time, then shift it from one hand to the other.

To improve the coordination of the baby, it is good to use such a game. Lay the child on his back, grab him in the area of \u200b\u200bthe forearms, and then slowly help him sit up, saying that he “grows big, big”, then gently put the baby on his legs and slowly lay him on his back again.

How does a baby's speech develop?

It's hard to believe, but between 4 and 5 months, the baby is actively developing speech, which is replenished with numerous vowels. The child enjoys practicing speech skills, communicating with loved ones, trying to copy their intonations. For the correct development of speech already from this age, it is necessary to
more often:

  • talk with the baby about everything in the world;
  • tell him stories;
  • read poetry;
  • describe the surrounding objects, phenomena, etc.

During such communication, you need to respond positively to the baby's babble, letting him know that you hear him, understand and enjoy the dialogue. Try to speak slowly, clearly, with pauses and observance of intonations, stop when the baby enters into a “conversation”, carefully listening to his babble.

Remember that at this age the emotional world of the child is being transformed, so it is very important for him to have an example of how to gesticulate, change intonations and facial expressions during communication. The older the baby becomes, the better he will understand the speech addressed to him.

And he can direct all his attention and energy to the knowledge of the world and communication. Moreover, the latter is becoming more and more important and significant in the life of a little man.

A child at this age, along with food, sleep and care, needs to interact with other people. First of all, with my mother. A four-month-old baby already clearly distinguishes her from the rest of her relatives.

Physical development

Since the baby is not yet very moving and wasting energy, the weight gain is still significant, although less than in previous months. From the moment of birth, the baby gains about three kilos. Growth increases by 2 - 3 centimeters per month.

For a more accurate determination of the weight and height characteristic of harmonious development, pediatricians have special "centile" tables.

What should a child be able to do at 4 months?

Be sure to read the pediatrician's information, which answers a very important question,.

It will also be useful for parents to find out how a two-month-old baby develops and what a two-month-old baby should be able to do.

Find out from a meaningful and informative article by a pediatrician about how it happens.

Detailed information from an experienced children's doctor, telling about how and how to deal with it.

  • the baby must definitely hold his head confidently and twist his neck, looking around;
  • rises on the forearms, holding upper part body;
  • determines the source of the sound by turning the head towards it;
  • at 4 months, the baby should roll over from back to side and further on to the stomach. Learn to roll over from stomach to back
  • grabs the rattle and holds it;
  • when pulling on the handles, he tries to sit down.

The fourth month of life is very early time for targeted landings. The spine of the baby is not yet strong for such loads. These skills are best mastered after 5 months, provided that the child himself tries to sit down. This is especially important for girls. Early sitting down can provoke an incorrect formation of the location of the uterus. In the future, this threatens with problems with conception and childbirth. The boy is not so strict;

  • everything goes into the mouth. In this way, the baby learns the world. The task of parents is to secure the space around the baby as much as possible;
  • learning to clap;
  • holding hands while feeding maternal breast or bottle of formula.

Make sure that there are no small objects or things near the child from which you can easily break off or bite off a piece. Although there are no teeth yet, a baby's gums are strong enough to bite off a piece of something soft or fragile.

A newborn child has certain reflexes that exist up to a certain age. They are called transitory. Beginning with three months, reflexes begin to fade.

There is a time limit for everyone. 3- month old baby there should no longer be a search, protective, proboscis and Babkin reflex.

Fading away at 4 months the following reflexes:

  • grasping reflex. If you put the fingers of an adult in the arms of a baby, the baby will tightly grasp them. A four-month-old child is already aware of hand movements. His grips are purposeful and controlled by the baby himself;
  • crawling reflex. If the child is laid out on his stomach and his hands are pressed tightly against the soles of his feet, the baby will reflexively push off. This reflex is the basis of the crawling skill. With its stimulation, the baby will begin to develop the crawling skill a little earlier;
  • Moro reflex. The child throws up his arms and makes hugging movements with a sharp sound, bright light, or when exposed to any internal stimuli. It is because of him, throwing up their arms, newborns wake up, forcing even the most ardent opponents of swaddling to wrap the crumbs in swaddling clothes at night.

Reflexes not only fade, but also appear. They are called installations. By 4 months, the upper Landau reflex is formed. It is expressed in the fact that the baby, being on his stomach, raises the upper part of the body and is held in this position, leaning on his hands.

Psycho-emotional development

  1. The “complex of revival” is easily called. At the sight of parents or other familiar people, a 4-month-old baby smiles, rejoices, actively moves his arms and legs, and hums.
  2. He recognizes his mother, distinguishes her from the rest.
  3. Smiling at his own reflection.
  4. Babbling. At times, you can hear not only individual sounds, but also the syllables “ma”, “pa”, “ba”. This is still unconscious onomatopoeia, the progenitor of future active speech.
  5. Expresses various emotions. It is no longer just joy and sadness. Anger, resentment, fear are added.
  6. Behavior also becomes more differentiated. If the kid likes the game, he rejoices. When it stops, she starts crying. Among the toys, he singles out his favorite ones, with whom he is ready to engage constantly.
  7. Easily determines the source of the sound by turning your head towards it. The child begins to perceive music. Responds well to rhythmic or melodic song.
  8. Focuses, listens at the sound of his name.
  9. He begins to feel his body in space, gets acquainted with it. It's fun to watch a baby who is staring at his hands or feeling his feet. Such are the children - knowledge through the game.
  10. The vision of a baby is almost at the level of an adult. The baby can already distinguish several colors - red, yellow and blue.

No need to bore the child with multi-colored toys. A large number of colors and shades strain the organ of vision and create an increased load on the nervous system.

At breastfeeding in the nutrition of the child, everything remains the same. There are fewer attachments to the breast, a feeding regimen is emerging.

The lactation crisis of the third month is behind, it is developed strictly according to the feeding schedule. Sensations in the form of tingling and bursting upon the arrival of milk are no longer so disturbing for a nursing mother.

If the mother is exclusively breastfeeding, no complementary foods are introduced at this age. It is possible to supplement water with fever, vomiting and in a child and in conditions of heat.

At artificial feeding the introduction of diluted juices into the diet is allowed. The digestive system of the artificial is already quite ready to digest them.

Be sure to check out the detailed and informative article by a children's doctor, which answers a common parenting question,.

Why you should not rush with feeding juices? The introduction of juices can provoke regurgitation due to acidification of the internal environment of the stomach. After sweet juices, the baby may refuse to try vegetables or cereals that are tasteless, in his opinion.

  • baby's interest in adult food;
  • the child holds his head well, sits confidently or with support;
  • when food (not milk or mixture) gets into the mouth, it does not push it out;
  • doubling weight since birth;
  • the baby holds the spoon and seeks to put it in his mouth;
  • appearance of the first teeth.

Sleep and daily routine

The child sleeps most of the day - about 15 hours. Of these, night sleep takes 10. The remaining time is distributed between three daytime.

In most cases, all night long. He wakes up several times to be reinforced with milk or formula.

We bring to your attention an article child psychologist, which discusses the main and most popular .

Today this phrase is replicated, fashionable, relevant.

But all the simplest games, communication, explanations and tactile contact - all this can be called developing.

  • massage and gymnastics. Can be used separately or together. Massage is useful to do after waking up and before bathing. Gymnastics consists in passive movements (flexion, extension) of the baby's limbs, flips and stimulating crawling by pressing your fingers on the child's heels. Fitball is also well combined with this process. A set of classes with him is simple, and information is easy to find on the Internet;
  • maximum tactile contact. It is vital for a baby. Carry your baby in your arms, in a sling, breastfeed, do a light stroking massage;
  • toys. The toy park for a 4-month-old baby is much wider than, for example, for a one-month-old baby. Teethers are added to the rattles, because the baby really wants to pull everything into his mouth and gnaw with itchy gums. It will be interesting for the baby to try to touch fabric bags of different textures filled with buckwheat, semolina, peas, and small balls. The developing mat becomes a whole storehouse of sensations. There are different colors here tactile sensations fabrics, toys hanging over the head, which must be captured, a mirror in which it is very interesting to look and recognize oneself;
  • verbal communication. Children are great imitators. The more often they hear the sounds of speech, the easier it will be for them to master it;
  • jokes, jokes. Familiar to everyone since childhood "Magpie-Crow", "Horned Goat", "Ladushki" and others. The child also likes the rhythmic sound, accompanied by action - bathing, finger gymnastics, dressing, tickling, stroking;
  • "Coo-coo". At first glance, a simple game for the amusement of a baby. In fact, through the game action, the child is aware that the parent, when he leaves his field of vision, then necessarily returns. On this basis, the baby develops confidence in the world.

When should you worry?

There is a certain mandatory list of what a child can do at 4 months. Parents need to know this. But if the child is 4 months old and has at least one a sign of the following, the first thing to do is to urgently consult a doctor:

  • the baby does not hold his head;
  • lying on the stomach, does not rise on the forearms;
  • the child does not roll over;
  • does not react to sounds, does not look for their source;
  • the baby does not show a “complex of revival” at the sight of the mother;
  • does not hold the rattle and does not even try to try to grab it;
  • demonstrates reflexes that should fade by this age.

In order to avoid unnecessary anxiety or, on the contrary, unwanted peace of mind, find out from the article of an ophthalmologist.

Carefully monitor the development of the baby, but do not compare it with peers. Each baby develops at its own pace.

Baby development from 4 to 5 months
Physical development

During this month, the baby, as a rule, adds about 650-700 grams in weight, and grows in length by about 3 centimeters. The circumference of the head increases by 1 centimeter and the chest circumference by 1.5-2 cm. At the fifth month, the baby lies on his stomach for a long time, he confidently leans on his forearms and keeps his head straight. Lying down, the child can look at the toys in front of him with interest, and even try to reach out to the toy. The kid strives to crawl forward or backward on his stomach, he can roll over from his stomach to his back. For the time being, not very confident and not for long, the child sits leaning against a support - in a child seat or in pillows. The seated position opens up new possibilities for exploring and playing with objects. The child shakes the rattle for a long time, listening to its sound, examines and pulls the toy into his mouth. Having dropped the rattle, the baby tries to find it with his eyes.

Do you think it's too early for a baby to crawl? Let's try to teach him this. So, the child lies on his stomach. Place one or two familiar toys on the mat so that the baby's fingertips lightly touch one of them. Sit on the floor opposite and encourage him to reach for the toy. Perhaps his “floundering” with legs and arms will move the baby a little towards the toy and he will touch it or grab it. Make your little one's job easier! Place him on his tummy so that his legs can rest against the wall when he begins to "flounder" to reach the toy. Maybe not on the first try, but success is guaranteed! Or put your hand on your baby's feet so that he can rest against it when he reaches for the toy. You can "push" him a little, put pressure on his feet, and he will move forward a little. Rejoice with the baby success and be sure to praise him!

mental development

Being in the room with adults, the baby tries to be an active participant in the events that take place around him. He tries to attract the attention of adults, "calling" them to him with various sounds. The child develops a babble that intensifies if an adult speaks to him or smiles at him. At the sight of the parents, the baby can produce the so-called "cries" of joy. Being alone, the baby can also pronounce various sounds and sound chains, and when an adult appears in the field of vision, it begins to babble more actively.

With sounds, he can express pleasure or well-being. The baby listens carefully to the sounds that he utters, and rejoices when he hears them.

The baby improves vision and hearing. He begins to notice color differences (yellow and Blue colour), carefully looks at his parents, feels his mother’s face with his hands, touches his nose, eyes, pulls his hair, puts his fingers in his parents’ mouth when they talk to him. The child notices changes in the environment (for example, when parents change toys on a mobile phone, perform actions with toys) and emotionally reacts to these changes. The baby begins to listen to the sounds of the environment - the ringing of the phone or the rumbling of a working household appliances trying to find the source of the sound with his eyes. The distance at which the child reacts to distant sounds increases to 2.5-3 meters.

The child laughs out loud when something is done to him, for example, when dad raises and lowers him, tickles, blows on his tummy and hair. Such games become a favorite pastime of the growing baby and parents. By placing the baby's hands on your lips or cheeks, you can make him laugh by pronouncing sound chains with different intonations and facial expressions, for example “ba-ba-ba”, “ma-ma-ma”, etc.

What games and exercises with the baby are useful at this age? Take the child in your arms, bring it to the mirror, and draw its attention to the reflection (tap your finger on the mirror, ring the bell behind the mirror). First, wave your hand in front of the mirror and say “Hi, hello!”, and then grab your baby’s hand and wave it too. When you are in front of a mirror, perform different actions: clap your hands, shake your head, wave your hand, puff out your cheeks, stick your tongue out, etc.

The child is now learning to reach for objects and grab them with his hand. It improves grasping movements and hand coordination. Hang toys in front of your baby different size at such a distance that he could reach them. Do not hang them too far, otherwise, if the baby cannot reach out and get them, he will lose interest in them. Place a toy (rattle, small cube, or soft toy). The baby will learn to shift the toy from one hand to the other, knock the toy or throw it in front of him. Put some toys in front of him so that the little one learns to reach out and take toys on his own. Do not forget to praise the baby for success!

Turn on the music, but not very loudly. After a few seconds, turn off the sound, and then turn it back on. You will see that the baby notices when there is sound and when it is not. Do not leave the tape recorder on for for a long time. A constant sound background is not very useful for the baby, he quickly starts to get tired, he may start to yawn or be naughty. Let the child listen to different music: slow, calm and rhythmic. Don't forget to talk to him about what kind of music he listens to (sad or happy). You can take the baby in your arms and dance with him, moving to the rhythm of the music. Smile and encourage your baby to laugh. Kids love to move to the rhythm of the music with their mom!

The kid continues to explore the surrounding objects. He not only listens to sounds and looks around. He especially likes to put everything in his mouth. While his mouth is best tool to study subjects. He bites objects, licks, trying to feel them in different ways. Do not prevent the child from pulling toys into his mouth, while carefully monitoring their cleanliness. When he grows up and learns to explore toys in a different way, the baby will not put all the objects in his mouth. In the meantime, give him toys different in shape, size and weight, from different materials (wooden, rubber, plastic, rag). The main thing is that the materials from which all toys are made are safe. And the objects themselves were not sharp and too small. Putting toys in your mouth is useful not only to study them better. This is also useful for later learning the skill of independent eating. In the future, the child can be given a dryer or a cracker in the hand and help bring the hand to the mouth. The baby will learn to bite and chew food. Introduce your baby to different taste sensations, but do it carefully so as not to cause allergies. You can smear the baby's fingers with honey and bring them to your mouth if he does not pull them into his mouth. Another time you can spread them with jam or sour lemon.

In addition, it is useful for a small person to recognize new smells. This will keep him safe in the future. Let him smell different smells, pleasant and unpleasant: the smell of your perfume, the smell of milk, the smell of melon, the smell of garlic, vanilla, etc. Roll up some cotton balls. Moisten one with perfume, the other with the juice of some fresh berry and, in turn, bring it to the baby's nose. Remember that in children with allergies, such experiments are unacceptable. Look at his reaction and you will understand which smell he likes best. From unpleasant odors he will turn away and wrinkle his nose. After a few days, introduce your baby to other smells (yogurt, baby shampoo or soap, etc.) Do not bring very strong smelling balls too close to his nose.

Yesterday I received a letter from a reader with gratitude for the book “5 secrets of development” and questions about the development of a baby up to a year. This is indeed a very large topic that I have not touched on yet. It's time to improve Today we'll talk about the development of a child 4 - 5 months.

At the fifth month, the baby should already purposefully grab objects (soon he will begin to look at them before sticking them in his mouth), consciously throw objects on his own (unclench the handle and release), and emotionally react to the appearance of loved ones.

Well, if he can already roll over on his tummy. If not, it doesn't matter, it's time to learn it! To do this, you can use this simple game, which also helps develop the muscles of the spine:

Lay the child on his back. Get his attention with a rattle. Slowly move the rattle over the baby in a semicircle. The baby will not want to let the rattle out of sight and will begin to turn his head, and then his shoulders after her. This is how the “first turn” can happen.

Development of the senses

In addition, in his life there was a very important point- now he sees the whole world around him! The fact is that up to 4 months the baby sees only at a distance of 30-40 cm, no more. And now, after 4, he can already focus his vision, regardless of the distance to the object. This may happen a little later, at 4 months and 1-2 weeks, but it will definitely happen soon. And then the look of the baby will open all the diversity of the house and the street. Imagine that you did not see anything and then suddenly the whole world is in front of you! What is it? Here! And your baby is experiencing the same thing. After all, he had not seen "beyond his own nose" before.

Therefore, it's time to play an exciting and educational game: view the street from the window and for a walk! One observation is already the development of both vision and horizons, show and name as many objects as possible, pay attention to sounds, movement, height, distance.

The kid continues to explore the world by touch, he is interested in the texture of objects. And this is for mom! Let the baby handle different materials - velvet, silk, burlap. You can use both and improvised means. Even for the age of 4 - 5 months, interest in temperature at different temperatures is characteristic. Therefore, you can let him hold a cold and hot bottle, a spoon, or even a piece of ice or a frozen berry. Play this game:

Take the knitted glove. Sew pieces of material on it, different in texture: silk, velvet, satin. And on 2 fingers (through one) sew buttons of different shapes - round and elongated. Lay the baby on its back on your lap. And, affectionately pronouncing all your actions, stroke the hands and fingers of the crumbs with your glove. After that, put each of the fingers of the glove in turn in the palm of the baby so that he can feel materials of different textures.

Baby's vision continues to develop so pay attention to colors when choosing toys. They should be basic (red, blue, yellow, green) and natural, as in wildlife. And also protect the baby from cartoons, video tutorials and the like. He is not recommended to look at any screens now. Better look out the window

Motor skills

The kid already controls the handles, now we need to work on coordination of movements. Namely, to develop purposeful hand movements. Teach your baby to hold a toy with both hands at the same time and shift toys from hand to hand. Give him a toy that won't fit in one hand and show him how to hold it with both hands. And then give him the same toy without prompting. Play around:

Give your baby a rubber ring in one hand and an interesting little toy in the other hand. And then, while he has not played enough yet, show him 1 more toy, also small. You need to ensure that the baby does not throw old toy, and shifted it in his hand to the ring and took a new thing. Most likely, this will not work the first time. We “played” like this for a week :)

For the growth and development of baby coordination this game is very helpful.

Lay the child on the back and gently grab his forearms. Then slowly move him to a sitting position, saying: “The baby is growing big, big!” Then very carefully place the baby, saying the same thing. Then put the baby down again and repeat the game.

Speech

Vowels have already appeared in the baby's speech. Now he needs "practice". Try to accompany any of your and your common actions with words - describe what is happening. Tell him about all the surrounding objects in the house and on the street. Talk to him:

Talk to your baby, starting with short sentences, such as "What a sunny day it is today." When your baby reacts with babbling or cooing, stop talking and look into his eyes. If the child mutters something, answer him with a nod of the head and smile. Thus, you make it clear to the baby that you are listening to him and you like the sounds that he makes. Say the following sentence. Be sure to pause and wait for the reaction of the baby. By letting your child know that you are listening carefully and that you enjoy listening to him, you are helping to develop his speech and self-confidence.

The baby is now assimilating more complex emotions. Therefore, when you turn to the baby, change intonations, gesticulate and do not hide facial expressions. Then the baby will understand your speech addressed to him better every day. When the baby understands that he can also make different sounds, he will really like it and he will scream, “mumble”. If you see that the baby is not upset and repeats the same sound often - everything is ok with him, he just recognizes his capabilities. Communicate with facial expressions, you can play such a game. It enriches facial expressions, your communication and just makes the baby very happy.

Sit in front of the baby. Stick out your tongue, open your eyes and wiggle your nose. Perhaps the baby will try to repeat your movements. When he begins to repeat after you, you, in turn, repeat after him. And then show something else fun, like puffing out your cheeks. Isn't it fun?

What else to "do"?

At 4 months, babies especially like bubble(if you still burst them yourself, then they form initial forms causal relationships)

Read! Read to your child as often as possible. By the way, if the baby is quickly distracted, you can take a separate toy for reading (for older children, a glove toy is used, but at your age it is better to take a simple rubber one) in the form of an animal and take it out only when you read. With the words “Leva come to read you a book”, you “bring” the left, give it to the baby and read the book together and look at the pictures.

Listen to songs, rhymes, classical and ethnic music. If you know how to play an instrument, play with your child.

Look at the most interesting places in the apartment. Among these: the whole kitchen, aquariums, tea leaves in a mug.

What kind of developmental toys to choose for the development of a child of 4 - 5 months?

Offer your baby noisy toys. The simplest extraction of sounds will interest the child for several more months. Play with geometric rattles with comfortable handles, and rattles with pictures of people and animals (preferably shaped rather than painted).

I also highly recommend buying a sensory rug, if it is not possible, you can make it yourself - sew 9-12 types of fabric into one blanket, fill several blocks with cotton. Later, when the baby grows up, you can sew on buttons and ropes for “tying” on him.

I want to say a big thank you to Tatyana for such a mood. Only thanks to you, mothers of babies will be able to read a lot of interesting things here.
