What is a gas tube for newborns

What to lubricate

How to paste

- Wash your hands with soap.

- Undress the baby below the waist, remove the diaper.
- Lay the baby on his back or on his left side, having previously laid a diaper under his ass.
- Anoint the tip of the tube and between the buttocks of the crumbs with petroleum jelly.
- Lift the baby's legs with your left hand, bending them to the tummy.
- With your right hand, take the tube by the ribbed place and insert the crumbs into the anus with a rubber long tip to a depth of 3 cm.
How much to keep
The tube is inserted. Gently lower the baby's legs, holding the straw so that the lubricated end does not fall out. Use your free hand to massage your tummy. To do this, simply stroke the baby around the navel in a clockwise direction. After 2-3 minutes, you can hear the gaziki go outside. Do not rush to rejoice. Liquid feces will appear after the gasses, i.e. defecation will begin. The stool may be foamy or lumpy. After the stool has passed, wait another minute or two and, if nothing else happens, carefully remove the tube, while lifting the baby's legs up.
How often can you bet
Pediatricians recommend this procedure as needed, it does not cause addiction. However, this does not mean that it is possible to put a gas tube on a newborn every two hours at the first cry of the child. Do not forget to massage, apply a warm film to the tummy, put the baby on the tummy, wear it like a “soldier” after feeding, drink dill water. Such simple activities train the small intestine. Leave the tube for the last moment, when other means do not bring results, and the baby continues to suffer.
How to replace a gas tube for newborns
What to do if the gas outlet tube is not at hand? In this case, you can use two home-made gas outlet options:
- Take the smallest enema syringe and cut the bottom out of it. Thoroughly wash the resulting design, disinfect in boiling water and use as described above, inserting a thin elastic tip into the anus. Use vaseline oil for lubrication.
- A gas outlet tube can also be made from a pipette. To do this, remove the rubber cap from it and use it as suggested above. Leave this option for the very last moment. The glass in the pipette, though strong, is glass. Use very carefully, do not forget about hygiene.
